I chose a dd16 over the Cummins because the 2012 dd15 has been basically trouble free. I run 7-9 axle lowbeds with a lot of off highway/steep grades and we never get good fuel mileage but when running the dd15 side by side with 2 c15/550’s and a c16/600, the detroit will do +10% better, pulling same weights at the same speed.

Detroits have better reliability and MPG. If I were buying a brand new truck i would but the Detroit hands down. That being said, what kind of hauls do you do that require 600 horse? If you a van driver keeping under 80k, you would be better off with a d15 for fuel economy. This is the best job I have had.
