What is FTE and HC?

What is FTE and HC?

There are two basic ways that we count the number of employees. When we use headcount, each individual person counts as one employee whether their appointment is full time or part time.

How do I calculate my FTE?

An employer with a 35-hour workweek would simply divide the employee’s scheduled hours by 35 to determine the FTE. For example, an employee scheduled to work 21 hours per week would be 0.6 FTE when the full-time workweek is 35 hours. FTE calculations are about hours worked rather than number of employees.

What is an FTE contract?

What does 0.4 FTE stand for?

Provided LCHS “rounds up”, this means 40% of the equivalent full time position. Although LCHS has a 37.5 or 38 hour work week, 40% of a standard 40 hour work week is 2 days, or 16 hours. In summary: 0.4EFT is effectively a part time role, 2 days a week, paying 40% of a full-time colleague in the same role.
