Raider Competition or “Raider” as it is more commonly known is a very popular athletic competition held within Junior ROTC programs around the United States. It is the Junior ROTC equivalent of the Army ROTC “Ranger” competition in college, only far less dangerous but very challenging as well!

What are Raiders in JROTC?

The Raider team is the most physically demanding extracurricular activity in JROTC. A well rounded raider team must be in top notch shape as many of the activities include push ups, sit ups, and / or running.

How many events are there in Raider Challenge?

The Army Championships maintain five competition events vs. four events for the Raider Challenge Championships (No Cross-Country Rescue); 2)while Rope Bridge, Physical Team Test and the 5K Team Run are identical, minor modifications have been made to the Gauntlet Course.

The Raider Challenge, held in Wayne, MI at Wayne Memorial High School, featured 12 high school teams from Michigan and Indiana.
