I think the problem lies with sub-standard connectors – they are a very loose fit on the Nexus 7 and laptop. No such problems have been seen with the Google supplied cable. bought this as my cable was starting to bend.. it is exactly what I wanted but I have found that is it very slow on charging so have gone back to my old cable.
