Is the UK National Archives open?

We’re free to visit and now open to all between Tuesday and Saturday. Our building opens to visitors at 09:00, until the reading rooms close. Our exhibition spaces are open all day, but the opening times of our other services vary. Documents can be ordered between 09:30 and 15:30.

Can anyone visit the National Archives?

Our building, including our reading rooms and exhibition spaces, is now open to everyone. You do not need to book to visit our exhibition, shop or cafe.

Are the National Archives open yet?

Research Rooms and Museums National Archives staff continue to serve the public remotely by responding to emailed requests for records and History Hub inquiries. A number of our museums have reopened with limited hours and timed tickets. National Archives Museum in Washington, DC | Monday–Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Do you need tickets for the National Archives?

Entry to the National Archives is free. However, a nonrefundable $1.00 advance reservation convenience fee will be charged for each ticket. If you cancel, reservation fees are nonrefundable. Same-day reservations are permitted.

Where is the entrance to the National Archives?

The Special Events Entrance is near the corner of Constitution Avenue and 7th Street, to the right of the stairs. The National Archives Research Center entrance is at 700 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. Reservations are currently required for individuals or groups wishing to enter the National Archives Museum.
